AC sale high in city

Buubaneswar: AsTemperature  increased in the city, AC Sale gone up in capital Bhubaneswar.
“The sale of ACs and coolers has increased by at least 30 % compared to last year. Last summer was not as severe as this year and rain at frequent intervals did not allow the temperature to rise much,” said Prakash Kumar Biswal, managing partner of Raj Electronics, an electronics shop. “We are selling around 150 ACs a day in our different showrooms in Cuttack and Bhubaneswar,” he said.

The rise in sale of ACs was seen in the last three to four days after the temperature in the city went beyond 42 degree Celsius.

However, installation of ACs has become a problem due to sudden spurt in sales. “There is a shortage of skilled manpower to install the ACs,” said Debraj Rath, managing partner of Spectra Vision, another electronics showroom.

The torrid temperature has also raised the demand of AC mechanics in the city. “I have to attend so many calls for repair and installation of ACs. Due to overuse, most ACs have developed snags. I and my two assistants are attending at least 30 calls a day,” said Alok Sahu, an AC mechanic.  This brought smiles on the faces of electronics shopowners.
