AGARTALA: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has all set to form government in the north east state. Bjp and its allies have demolished the last Left Front bastion in the country .According to the information 59 out of the 60 seats for which counting took place in Tripura. BJP+ got 43 seats Where Left Front managed to retain 16 . Following a brusing battle in Tripura Assembly elections 2018, the Left Front was ousted from power in the state after 25 years by the BJP wave. Communist Party of India (Marxist) leader Manik Sarkar occupied the chief minister’s post for 19 years and despite being regarded as a leader with impeccably clean personal record failed to save his party from the rout. With National Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP)-Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is heading to form government in the 60-member Nagaland assembly. it looks like one more state may soon where the saffron party will be part of the government. It has been a close fight in the state elections with Naga Peoples Front (NPF) close behind leading on 26 seats. The others are leading in six seats. In Meghalaya, no single party got majority. once a Congress bastion, is now heading towards a hung house. Facing tough opposition, Congress party won 11 Assembly constituencies and is currently leading in 10 more. Regional outfit National People’s Party or NPP emerged at the second spot with four wins and leads in 19 Assembly seats.
