Paradeep: The Jagatsinghpur district administration began culling of chickens in Badapadia area of Paradip town after different bird species were found infected with avian flu. The culling process has been started in Badapadia area. Chief District Veterinary Officer Dr Ramesh Chandra Behera said, Ten rapid response teams that were sent to the affected area for sanitation. Teams comprising 40 members have been constituted to sanitise the area. Besides, the administration has banned sale of chicken meat and conducted raids at meat-selling shops in the town to detect H5N1 infected chicken.
