Delhi government will conduct a dry run on Wednesday to test the preparedness for the implementation of odd-even number scheme for private cars in the national capital. Talking to reporters, City Transport Minister Gopal Rai said 3 thousand additional buses will ply in view of rolling out of the scheme from Friday.
Earlier, Delhi government had announced to run 6,000 additional buses for the commuters. Rai said Delhi metro will also increase its frequency from 2 thousand in a day to over 3 thousand to meet the extra rush of the passengers.
Meanwhile, Aam Aadmi Party said its volunteers will help in implementation of the scheme within the framework of law. Yesterday, Delhi Police Commissioner B S Bassi had warned AAP volunteers against any form of vigilantism. He had said they should assist and act as per law while the police enforces the odd-even scheme.
