Bhubaneswar: During the puja ECoR is planning to run special trains.
The East Coast Railway (ECoR) has decided to run nine pairs of weekly puja special trains towards different destinations of the country from its jurisdiction by creating a number of additional berths.
ECoR sources said it will run a pair of Suvidha special train and eight other long- distance puja special trains for the benefit of the passengers. The Visakhapatnam-Tirupati weekly Suvidha train will leave Visakhapatnam on every Monday between September 3 and November 14.
The other eight special trains are Puri-Tata, Tata-Visakhapatnam, Sealdah-Puri, Santragachi-Puri superfast, Puri-Santragachi, Puducherry-Santragachi, Tata-Visakhapatnam and Visakhapatnam-Secunderabad.
Apart from Visakhapatnam-Tirupati and Visakhapatnam-Secunderabad, the other seven trains will originate or pass through Odisha.
Two special trains, Puducherry-Santragachi and Puri-Tata, have already started their journey from August 6 and August 10 and will continue till November 14 and November 17, respectively. The other trains will begin their journey from October and continue till December.
The ECoR may run more trains between different destinations under its jurisdiction during Durga Puja to tackle the passenger rush. It also plans to augment its trains with additional coaches during the period by creating additional berths.
