Bhubaneswar: Ama Odisha Party president and former MP Soumya Ranjan Patnaik and Achyuta Samanta, founder of Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT University) and Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS) joined the ruling Biju Janata Dal (BJD) today.
A formal announcement in this regard was made by Chief Minister and BJD supremo Naveen Patnaik after Soumya Ranjan Patnaik met him at Naveen Nivas, residence of the CM, here.
He later founded the Ama Odisha Party on November 26, 2013 with the dictum “Maa, Mati O Matrubhasha” and contested in the 2014 elections from Khandapada assembly constituency in Nayagarh. He lost to BJD’s Anubhav Patnaik in the poll by a narrow margin of mere 601 votes.
Moments after Ama Odisha Party president and former MP Soumya Ranjan Patnaik joined the ruling Biju Janata Dal (BJD), was also inducted into the party today. Chief Minister and BJD supremo Naveen Patnaik made a formal announcement in this regard after Samanta met him at Naveen Nivas, residence of the CM, here. “Naveen Patnaik’s pro-people activities and commitments attracted me to join the Biju Janata Dal,” Samanta said in his reaction after joining the party.
