As per the reports by Sharma, the move came in view of the inconveniences occurring with people visiting Odisha from outside state and country. As they are alien to the state, they used to lodge complaint with police of their respective states when they face any trouble here for which it is getting delayed in police investigation into the cases. It has been decided that the special police force will be formed in pattern that is operational in the cities like Mumbai, Delhi and Vishakhapatnam for police patrolling on the National Highways. The force will be comprised of the jawans from various battalions, he informed.
