Bhubaneswar: Even as the controversial film The Kerala Story which centres on love jihad is creating ripples across the nation after its release, the Odisha unit of Samajwadi Party has on Tuesday sought a ban on the screening of the film in the state.
In a letter sent to Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, party’s state unit president Rabindra Nath Behera said, “The film is based on false and fabricated stories targeting a particular commuity. This film is meant to incite communal divide in society and shall endanger peace and brothershood.”
He urged the chief minister to impose a ban on the film which will pose a threat to communal harmony.
